This is the first book in a new series by Richard Osman.
Amy Wheeler is a security officer and she’s tasked to protect one of the world’s best selling authors, Rosie D’Antonio, who is threatened by the Russian oligarch Vasily Karpin. Rosie lives on a private island in South Carolina and while there Amy thinks about her life and the deaths of three influencers.
The cook, and former Navy SEAL, Kevin ambushes Amy with a gun, but Rosie hits him on the head with an Oscar statue, and they lock him in the panic room. The two women decide to stick together and flee the island in a speedboat. At the first possible opportunity, Amy contacts her father in law Steve, a retired English policeman and convinces him to come to the States to help out solving the murders of the influencers.
What follows is a wild ride, across several continents to keep both Amy and Rosie safe – and to solve the murders.
Richard Osman’s books are fun to read, I’ve loved the Thursday Murder Club series and now this one promises to be an exciting new series. Please do keep them coming Richard!
