Cell is an apocalyptic horror novel by the king of horror Stephen King in which a struggling artist from New England, Clayton Riddell, struggles to reunite with his young son after a mysterious signal broadcast over the global cell phone network turns the majority of his fellow humans into mindless vicious zombie-like killers,
I’ve been a big fan of Stephen King since the early 90s, then stopped reading his books after Dreamcatcher because I really didn’t like that book. Over the last few years, I have started to read some of his books. I love the Bill Hodges and Holly Gibney series – and I love his fantasy books as well. His horror is a bit hit and miss for me, which doesn’t bother me – he’s a prolific writer and there are lots of books that I do love. Having said that, this isn’t one of them. I absolutely hate zombies! They scare me $h!tless and I try to avoid watching and/or reading anything about them. So alas, Cell was a miss for me.
I’ll be re-reading Misery this year for another reading challenge and I’m really looking forward to it!
