Book 3 of the Molly the Maid series
Molly and Juan Manuel’s wedding day is 2 months away and they’re planning a small affair. Mr Snow has offered them the tea room at the Regency Grand Hotel for their nuptials but Molly has declined because they cannot afford it.
The hotel is hosting the filming of the TV show Hidden Treasures and hotel staff are encouraged to bring something along to get appraised. Molly is bringing a shoebox with some of her gran’s treasures. One of them turns out to be a priceless item and Molly would be a millionaire if she sold it. However, on the day it is supposed to be auctioned off the item is stolen.
This book switches between Molly’s narrative and Flora, Molly’s gran, whose diary tells the story of how she became estranged from her wealthy family.
I loved the diary of Molly’s gran in which we also learn about her romance with Mr Preston, the doorman at the Regency Grand Hotel, and Molly’s grandfather. Molly manages to figure out who the thief is by reading her grandmother’s diary.
