Book 2 of the Secrets of the Nile Series
Inez Olivera wants to be free of her guardian, her Tio Ricardo, and when Whit asks her to marry him, she gladly accepts. She is deeply in love with him, and they marry within days – without either of their families knowing.
Shortly after their marriage, Inez learns that Isadora is not who she appeared to be. Still grieving her cousin Elvira’s death, Inez is holding onto this new relationship with Isadora. When Inez goes to the bank to inform them of her marriage to Whitford Hayes, she learns all her money has been transferred to England, to Whit’s family. She is furious and considers divorcing him, but that would mean that Tio Ricardo would be her guardian again. She tells Whit that they will divorce after they find the lost library where Cleopatra’s most important document is kept – the document both she and Whit, as well as her mother and her partner are after…
The continuance of What the River Knows is seamless and I really enjoyed this. It seems that Inez, a temper tantrum or two aside has grown up after her previous experiences. I do hope there will be a sequel/spin off about Inez and Whit’s children in due time!
