Book 9 of the Erika Foster series
In this installment of the DCI Erika Foster series we delve into Erika’s past. In her current investigation she comes across someone who she remembers from her time in Manchester. The man was involved in her late husband’s death. When Erika immediately arrests the man, who is now living under another name, she gets in trouble with her superior who puts her on leave until she passes her physical.
During her leave, Erika and her partner Igor to Wales, where this man allegedly died several years ago, and she goes back to Manchester to find out more.
I was overjoyed when I learned there’d be another Erika Foster book this year and Robert Bryndza did not disappoint. The current day narrative is enhanced by flashbacks to Erika’s past which really added to the story and it was nice to get Erika’s back story.
I, for one, cannot wait for book 10!
