An Ethical Guide to Murder by Jenny Morris

An Ethical Guide to Murder

Thea learns unexpectedly that she has a ‘super power’ – she suddenly sees when her best friend is going to die, and it’s soon. When it comes true, she accidentally kills the person who is responsible for Ruth’s fatal head injury by taking the years he’s supposed to live and giving them to Ruth, thus prolonging Ruth’s life. Thea starts taking the life force from bad people, to help good people beat death – unbeknownst to them. When she tells her boyfriend, he’s exstatic and they come up with an ethical guide to murder. However, when Ruth finds out, she’s not as pleased.

A very original, and kind of thought provoking book. It does make you think, what if I had that power… how would I deal with it. Thea is not very likeable in the beginning of the book – but I started liking her more and more throughout the book. I thought the book was funny as well and I really enjoyed it.
