Molly Monroe is a 32 year old journalist and a party girl. We meet Molly in the first chapter when she wakes up hungover to find a man in her bed. They’re both fully clothed so she thinks nothing’s happened. The guy, Jack, assures her he was a gentleman who held her hair when she vomited and then stayed to make sure she didn’t choke on her vomit in her sleep.
She hurries to work, where she is called into the HR lady’s office to learn there’s a TikTok video of her giving an unknown man a blowjob in the streets of London. She is sent home and then later that day discovers her best friend and flatmate, Posey, dead in her bathtub.
I mistakenly thought that this was the sequel to How to Kill Men and Get Away With It as I picked it up from just seeing the buy now link in the aforementioned book. After discovering my mistake I wasn’t sure what to think of this new protagonist… she seemed a little over the top – but she grew on me, even reminded me a little of me in my party days. It was a good mystery!
