Book 1 of The Hunger Games
When twelve-year-old Primrose Everdeen’s name is called as a tribute in Panem’s Hunger Games, her older sister Katniss offers to take her place for District Twelve. Therefore sixteen-year-old Katniss is going to the Capitol to take part in the Games – a fight to the death until there is one victor.
Katniss is definitely not the most popular contestant in the games this year. When District Twelve’s male tribute is Peeta Mellark admits he’s always been in love with Katniss, she gains popularity.
Though Peeta and Katniss are separated in the beginning of the games, Katniss searches him out after the death of little Rue, a girl that reminds Katniss of Prim. Can they both survive the Games with Katniss’s plan?
I do love this series. It’s good fun – though I have some ideas what to do with president Snow as he’s a horrible person.
This was a re-read for me as I wanted to review the books on the blog. Excellent read!
