Aurora Teagarden Mysteries Book 1
Aurora ‘Roe’ Teagarden is a librarian in Lawrenceton, Georgia, USA. She belongs to a club called Real Murders, a group of people who come together once a month to discuss real crimes. This time, Roe is set to discuss the murder of Julia Wallace – a crime of passion committed by her spouse. However, when she gets to the meeting, she finds one of the members of the Real Murders group Mamie Wright dead; murdered in the exact same manner as Julia Wallace. Together with the other members of the Real Murders group, and writer Robin Crusoe, Roe starts investigating Mamie’s murder. When the copycat murderer sends Roe and her mother Aida some poisoned candy, the town is on alert. But more people end up murdered, all ‘inspired’ by famous cases the Real Murders group have studied. Is it someone in their group?
When the police have someone in custody, everyone seems to be relieved since the suspect has confessed to the murders… but Roe feels something is not quite right.
I love Aurora Teagarden, like Sookie Stackhouse, she’s a likeable character. She is dating both writer Robin Crusoe as the police detective Arthur Smith, much to the dismay of one of his colleagues. This is a lovely cosy mystery!
