Foul Lady Fortune by Chloe Gong

Foul Lady Fortune

Secret Shanghai Series Book 3

Rosalind Lang was brought back from the brink of death four years ago. The procedure didn’t just bring her back – it also stopped her ageing and sleeping. Any wound she sustains is healed, which means that Rosalind is immortal. She uses her skills as an assassin for her country to make up for her traitorous past.

When the Japanese Imperial Army marches on Shanghai, Rosalind has to pose as the wife of another Nationalist spy: Orion Hong. She thinks Orion’s attitude is cavalier and infuriating, but for the sake of her country, she’s willing to work with him. Rosalind wants to keep her secrets buried, but Orion digs to find out about her past.

I enjoyed this book more than These Violent Delights. I found Rosalind a nicer heroine than Juliette (her cousin). I will re-read These Violent Delights and see if my opinion of it has changed since I first read it (I found it a little disappointing as it was so hyped up).
