Caro Claire Burke is a novelist, culture essayist, and podcast co-host. She holds a BA from the University of Virginia and an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars. Known for her astute critique of internet culture, she co-hosts the politics and culture podcast Diabolical Lies. Her breakout debut novel, Yesteryear, was published by Knopf. The book is a satirical thriller that follows a modern “tradwife” and social media influencer who mysteriously wakes up in the 19th century. Burke first began exploring the “tradwife” phenomenon in early 2024 when she joined TikTok and started analyzing the intersection of digital performance, feminism, and traditional gender roles. Prior to her fiction debut, she built a prolific career as a writer and editor, contributing cultural criticism to publications such as The Atlantic, Marie Claire, and Bustle. She has also worked as an editor at Katie Couric Media.
