RuPaul Andre Charles (born November 17, 1960) is an American drag queen, television host, producer, and author known as the “Queen of Drag” and creator of RuPaul’s Drag Race. As the most commercially successful drag queen in the US, he has won 14 Primetime Emmy Awards and significantly brought drag into mainstream popular culture.
