Susanna Kaysen (born November 11, 1948) is an American author best known for her 1993 memoir, Girl, Interrupted, which chronicles her 18-month stay at McLean Hospital for borderline personality disorder treatment in the late 1960s. The book was adapted into a 1999 film. She has also written several novels, including Far Afield.
