Grady’s wife Abby goes missing and Grady is beside himself – he cannot sleep, eat or write. Then his agent, Abby’s godmother, gives him the opportunity to go to a little Scottish island, Amberly. A bestselling author had recently passed away, and his ‘writing shed’ is now available. Having lost his home and anxious to get working again, Grady heads off to Scotland.
On Amberly, he quickly realises there’s something strange going on. He sees Abby everywhere, but when he blinks, she’s gone. Is it wishful thinking or is Abby hiding on Amberly?
I’ve been waiting for a new Alice Feeney novel for a while – and I’m glad I read this the day after it came out. Feeney’s writing is engrossing and this book is really enjoyable.
