The Loyal Wife by Natalie Barelli

The Loyal Wife

Tamra’s husband Mike has announced he is running for governor, and Tamra is convinced he’s getting ready to leave her. Mike and Tamra have been married for six years, and he had an affair two years ago with a woman who was old enough to be his daughter.

Mike’s daughter Madison is a spoilt brat who doesn’t like Tamra even though Tamra tries her best with her – all she has eyes for is her daddy and she sees Tamra as the witch who broke up her parents’ marriage.

Then the body of the young woman which who Mike had an affair is found (because Tamra made that happen). Tamra speaks to a journalist and gives her some juicy details about Mike’s affair, i.e. he paid the girl to have an abortion.

Tamra tries to put the focus on Mike, because she saw the mistress get run over by his car two years ago and she buried the body herself. The more she tries to get the focus on him, the more suspicious the police becomes of her.

I really enjoyed this book. I really like Natalie Barelli’s writing style and the plot was interesting. I did feel sorry for Tamra, who appears to be a bit of a trophy wife, but she does have some substance.
