The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

The Devil Wears Prada

Book 1 of The Devil Wears Prada Series

Andy Sachs is a journalist who is looking for a job in New York City. When she interviews for a job with Runway, a fashion magazine, she’s surprised to get the job as the 2nd assistant of Miranda Priestley. Miranda is a horrible, and demanding woman – she has the strangest requests and is terribly dismayed when Andy doesn’t deliver. For instance, she asks her to find something, but doesn’t give any clues where she’s seen this and even tells Andy that she’s incompetent because Miranda is convinced she’s given the pertinent information in her original request (she didn’t).

I couldn’t help comparing the book to the film – which I’ll admit to watching more than once – and I was hoping that book Miranda would be more palatable than movie Miranda. Alas, they’re equally horrible! The ending of the book was more satisfactory than the film’s ending!
