A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal

A Tempest of Tea

Book 1 of the Blood & Tea Series

Arthie Casimir collects secrets. At night her tearoom becomes an illegal club where vampires can feed. When her livelyhood is threatened, she comes up with a plan for a heist that requires the help of Felicity ‘Flick’ Linden, a master forger. However, when Flick and Arthie crossed paths before, they didn’t really get along and Flick is locked away at home. Arthie sends her adoptive brother Jin to ‘arrest’ Flick to convince her to join them. Other people that are part of Arthie’s plan are the enigmatic, handsome vampire Matteo Andoni and Laith, a member of the horned guard.

This was a great book. Arthie is a Calamity Jane type character, whereas Flick is a girly girl. The romantic tension between Flick and Jin is excellent – I am still debating whether or not this book should be a five star read or four stars. I’m going to stick with my original rating but do want to stress that I really enjoyed this book!

I’m looking forward to the second book of this duology.
