Murder is Easy by Agatha Christie

Book 4 of the Superintendent Battle Series

Retired policeman Luke Fitzwilliam meets the elderly Miss Lavinia Pinkerton on the train. She reminds him of his favourite aunt. Miss Pinkerton confides in him that she’s on her way to Scotland Yard because she is convinced there is a serial killer at work in her village (Wychwood under Ashe). He thinks that these are the ramblings of an old lady. When Luke learns that Miss Pinkerton had a fatal accident on her way to Scotland Yard, he decides to go to Wychwood under Ashe to investigate the deaths she mentioned on the train. He learns that there have been several accidental deaths in the village and he soon starts to think that Miss Pinkerton may have been onto something and was murdered herself…

Though Luke Fitzwilliam is the main character in this book and leads the investigation, this book belongs to the Superintendent Battle series. Battle makes an appearance in the book, but rather late into the story.

Fitzwilliam is a pleasant main character and I really enjoyed this book. Agatha Christie’s novels are always entertaining and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint!
