Sera Swan was once the most powerful witch in Britain, but then she resurected her great-aunt Jasmin and lost most of her powers. She was consequently exiled from her magical guild. Now she helps her aunt Jasmin run an inn – though be it reluctantly and grumpily. She has her talking fox, and regrets and longings over what could have been.
Then she learns about an old spellbook that holds the key to restoring her powers. She asks the gorgeous guest, and historian, Luke Larsen, for help. And though he never thought he’d let the grumpy innkeeper close, he agrees to help her.
Another adorable book by Sangu Mandanna. I did really like her previous book and this one was just as lovely.
The characters are nice and the writing is light and funny. What’s not to like!
Looking forward to the next one!
