Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth

The Chosen Ones

It has been ten years since Sloane Andrews and her friends, the so-called Chosen Ones, saved the world from the Dark One. Sloane’s been having the hardest time to adjust, and everyone blames her PTSD for it. When her boyfriend Matt publicly proposes to her, she feels she has to accept. Then one of the Chosen Ones dies from an overdose which makes them all, but mostly Sloane, reevaluate their lives. At the same time, they’re dragged into an alternate world where their version of the dark one is still alive. The Chosen Ones are asked to fight the evil in this dimension as well.

I enjoyed this read, although the opening chapter where a journalist who interviews Sloane thinks about sleeping with her felt disconnected from the rest of the story. Other than that, everything fit together.
