Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross

Divine Rivals

Book 1 of the Letters of Enchantment series.

Iris Winnow is an 18 year old journalist who is competing against Roman Kitt for a column in the paper where she works. Roman’s writing is perfect and Iris tries her hardest. At night, Iris writes letters to her brother who is missing in action and “posts” her letters under the door of her wardrobe. Her rival Roman receives the letters and he starts writing her back under his middle name Carver.

When her mother dies, Iris falls behind and she loses the columnist position to Roman. Iris decides to leave the paper and becomes a war correspondent, and at night, she still writes to Carver.

This was a cute book, the enemies/rivals to lovers plot was well done, surrounded by war they were bound to fall in love… I am looking forward to the second on this series.

Read for the PopSugar Reading Challenge 2024.
