Le Fay by Sophie Keetch

Le Fay

Book 2 of the Morgan le Fay series.

Morgan and her son Yvain live at the court of King Arthur at Camelot. She wants to keep her son away from her abusive husband Urien. Morgan is Arthur’s trusted advisor – even though they clash at times over his reliance on Merlin. Her old flame, the page, now Sir Accolon of Gaul returns to Camelot. After trying to ignore him, their love rekindles and Morgan finds herself pregnant again.

Yvain had been sent to live with his father for a few weeks, which turned into months and Morgan misses him tremendously. Arthur promised her that Yvain would be returned soon.

Because she is now pregant by her lover Accolon, she is sent to Merlin and Ninianne where she can learn about more magic while she awaits the arrival of her child. After she gives birth, while she is sleeping, the child is taken away and adopted by a family. When Morgan wakes and finds out she is furious and devastated. Merlin tells her she agreed to this when she came to him.

Arthur declares Morgan an enemy of the realm and she is told to return to court. Morgan is convinced this is Merlin’s doing and she returns to Camelot. Throughout the book, Arthur declares Morgan an enemy several times.

I really enjoyed this book – it’s almost as good as the previous in the series, and I cannot wait for book 3!
