Greg Gaines has one friend, Earl, and together they make films. Then Greg’s mother forces him to reconnect with a girl from Hebrew school,Rachel. Rachel has just been diagnosed with leukaemia and needs cheering up. Greg calls Rachel and she hangs up on him, then his mum makes him go see her. Eventually Greg introduces Rachel and Earl to each other, and when Rachel is in the hospital they both visit her. When Greg breaks a limb and is forced to stay in the hospital himself, Earl shows Rachel their films. And then Rachel stops her treatment, Greg and Earl decide to make a film for her…
I really didn’t like this book at all. Greg annoyed me throughout the book. Even when they start making the film for Rachel, Earl seems far more sincere about it than Greg is.
