Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

Kathy goes to the Hailsham boarding school, far from the big city, where she is taught art and literature but nothing of the outside world. She grows up from schoolgirl to young woman while living on the school grounds.

Kathy is now 31 and is getting ready to make her first donation while she is a carer for other donors. She reminisces about her time at Hailsham, with anecdotes about her best friends Ruth and Tommy.

This book is beautifully written and haunting. I listened to the audiobook and it had me on the edge of my seat for most of it.
