Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop by Rebecca Raisin

Rosie’s Travelling Tea Shop

This is the first book in the Travelling Shops series

On her birthday Rosie’s husband announces he’s leaving her. The following day, Rosie quits her job as a sous chef in a Michelin star restaurant. That night, she gets really drunk and the next day a man knocks on her door handing her the keys to a hot pink van called Poppy. Rosie doesn’t remember purchasing Poppy, but she starts thinking about starting a pop up tea shop.

Rosie joins a forum online and gets a message from Oliver, a photographer, who travels the country to take pictures for his blog. Oliver gives Rosie some tips and she decides to take the plunge. When she arrives at her first destination she almost runs over a beautiful woman called Aria who runs a travelling bookstore in her van. Aria and Rosie become friends, and decide to travel together so they can park together at the festivals they intend to go to.

At the first festival, the two women meet handsome Max, who looks like Jason Momoa according to Aria. Max is a vegan and doesn’t eat sugar or anything Rosie considers good food so they bicker about this a lot. They do become friendly and in the background Rosie is still in contact with Oliver who keeps saying that he’d love to meet up, but when push comes to shove, he never shows up…

I quite enjoyed this book; I liked Rosie and love the idea of a travelling tea shop…
