Edie Burchill finds herself at Milderhurst Castle, a great but moldering old house where the Blythe spinster sisters live, after she receives a long lost letter. During WW2 her mother was billeted at Milderhurst Castle as a 13 year old, and Edie begins to unravel her mother’s life.
The elder Blythe sisters are twins who have spent their entire lives looking after their younger sister Juniper, especially after Juniper was jilted by her fiance in 1941.
I listened to the audiobook, and had trouble keeping my mind on the story. Sadly, it just didn’t grasp me as I hoped it would.
I may re-read it as an e-Book at some point.
