The Girl in the Ice by Robert Bryndza

The Girl in the Ice

Book 1 of the Erika Foster Series

When a young boy discovers the body of a woman beneath a thick sheet of ice in a South London park, Detective Erika Foster is called in to lead the murder investigation. Erika digs into the life of the beautiful young woman’s life that appears to have been perfect. She learns that this death is related to that of three dead prostitutes.

This book introduces us to Erika Foster, a Slovak immigrant, who has become a police officer in the UK. She has just transferred to London from Manchester, where she lead a raid that went terribly wrong. Not only was she injured herself, she lost the love of her life, her husband Mark Foster, who was part of her team. Erika is still grieving while trying to solve the case of the girl in the ice.

This book had me hooked from the start, I like Erika as a character. She’s direct and sometimes tactless but so likeable. I intend to re-read all the books so I can review them on this blog.
