The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods

This book has a dual time line:

1920s: Opaline escapes her brother’s plans to marry her off to Paris, where she finds a job in a bookshop. She then moves to Dublin, and starts her own bookshop. She becomes pregnant by her lover, and then she disappears…

Current day: Martha runs away from her abusive husband and finds a job in Dublin with the eccentric ex-actress Mrs Bowden. She meets Henry, a PhD student who is obsessed with an old manuscript and he’s trying to locate it…

The thing these storylines have in common is Opaline’s lost bookshop.

This book had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
