Book 2 of the Erika Foster series
Erika Foster and her team are investigating the murder of a doctor who was suffocated in his bed. His wrists are bound and there’s a plastic bag over his head. A few days later, another male victim is found in the exact same way. Erika is convinced that the killer is a woman, but the higher ups at the Met aren’t that sure.
Then the partner of the Met’s forensic pathologist, and Erika’s close friend, Isaac Strong, writer Stephen Linley, is murdered in the same way. The suspicion of the police team that arrive on scene falls on Isaac and he is arrested. Erika is sure her friend didn’t kill his partner, and the other men, but Isaac is charged with all the murders.
Together with detectives James Peterson and Kate Moss, Erika digs to find the truth even though they’ve been ordered to stop investigating.
A few years ago, I stumbled upon this series by Robert Bryndza when the first book of the series was 99p on Kindle. I devoured it, I love Erika Foster, she’s a Slovak/British police officer, who was widowed a few years ago when a raid went wrong. She’s grumpy (understandable) and has a wry sense of humour. As I’ve reviewed the last few books of the series on this blog, I’m now re-reading the first seven books. Which is not a chore, but a delight!
