The Last Mrs Parrish by Liv Constantine

The Last Mrs Parrish

Book 2 of the Mrs Parrish Series

Amber Patterson, a mousy woman, befriends the glamorous socialite Mrs Parrish. Daphne Parrish is perfect, she wears the most beautiful clothes, has two perfect daughters and last but not least, she’s married to Jackson Parrish. We soon learn that Amber is a calculating con-artist. She pretends to have lost a sister to cystic fibrosis to insinuate herself into Daphne Parrish’s life. She pretends to be Daphne’s friend, and slowly seduces Daphne’s husband. When Amber becomes pregnant by Jackson she bluffs she is pregnant with a boy (before she is certain) in order to force him to divorce Daphne and marry her.
What Amber doesn’t know is that Daphne was not only aware of her affair with her husband, she orchestrated it. She made sure Amber and Jackson went to the theatre together, that they stayed at their pied a terre in New York City together in the hopes that Amber would seduce her husband. No one knew that Jackson Parrish abused his wife, he is an immense control freak and she’s keeping it from Amber at all costs.

This was a great read, it kept me on the edge of my seat and the two points of view (Amber and Daphne) are both very interesting. Amber is not a very likeable character, and when she gets what she wants, she’s in for a big surprise – which makes it feel like justice, though I wouldn’t wish anyone a husband like Jackson!
