Six women go to a Greek island for a bachelorette trip. Lexi, the bride to be, is hoping for a relaxing weekend with not too much drinking. The other guests are: Bella, who makes sure everyone knows she’s Lexi’s best friend, has borrowed the villa they’re staying at from her aunt. What the others don’t know, is that a patient under her care died due to her negligence and this is the reason she changed careers recently. Bella’s girlfriend Fen has come to realise she doesn’t love Bella anymore. Newly divorced single mum Robyn is glad to be away for a bit, but she misses her child terribly. Lexi’s yoga friend Ana, a sign language interpreter and a single mum to a teenager, has a big secret. Lexi’s soon to be sister in law Eleanor is the last person in the group. Eleanor is still mourning the loss of her fiancé who died on his stag do.
Bella is definitely the most pushy, annoying person who wants to have Lexi all to herself. It feels like she’s always been in love with Lexi. She ignores the fact that Robyn has been close friends with Lexi for the same amount of time. At the same time, she is desperately trying to hang onto Fen. Fen tried to avoid Bella throughout the weekend going on hikes, and Robyn joins her on a few hikes. Bella certainly doesn’t like Lexi’s friendship with Ana and tries her best to drive a wedge between them.
Eleanor is an interesting character; she’s the only one who knows what Ed, Lexi’s fiancé is like. She knows a completely different Ed than the one Lexi thinks she’s marrying. Eleanor is still heartbroken over losing her own fiancé, they were a perfect match. During the weekend, she learns what really happened to him…
I really enjoyed this book. The first book I ever read by Lucy Clark was The Sea Sisters which I absolutely adored. After this I binge read all her other books. This is a re-read, and I really recommend it, it’s full of intrigue and betrayal.
