Fannie Flagg (born Patricia Neal; September 21, 1944) is an American actress, comedian, and bestselling author, best known for her 1987 novel Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. She received an Academy Award and Writers Guild of America Award nomination for her screenplay adaptation of the beloved 1991 film.
