End of Watch by Stephen King

Book 3 of the Bill Hodges trilogy.

Brady Hartsfield has been in a coma since his encounter with Holly Gibney. His doctor has been treating him with an experimental drug and now, years after his Mr Mercedes attacks, he’s woken up. According to the doctors he’s still in a vegetative state, but he’s starting to control people with his mind.

Bill Hodges is sure Brady is faking it, the staring into the void, and not being responsive. Bill is convinced Brady is behind the most recent suicides and attempted suicides. But Bill has a lot of other stuff on his mind, especially regarding his own health.

This book is quintessential King; the mind control of people, driving them to suicide… it’s reminiscent of some older Stephen King novels. It had me on the edge of my seat for most of the book. I listened to the audiobook and have to say that the narrator was amazing too.
