Argylle by Elly Conway

Aubrey Argylle’s parents were hippies and drug dealers, marijuana, and British-born Argylle has been living in Asia living off their inheritance for several years. Then someone comes to visit him and invites him to the States for a meeting about a job. Argylle initially thinks nothing of it but when he finds that his bank accounts are depleted, he decides to go for it. Stateside, he learns that the job offer is for the CIA, and he decides to join.

From then on, a thrilling ride ensues, Argylle turns out to be very adept to life as a CIA operative. The book takes us all over the world and one adventure follows the next to end with a Nazi treasure

I listened to the audiobook and I really enjoyed it. I’m actually looking forward to the film now too – I’ve seen the trailer and it looks good. Argylle is a likeable enough hero in the book and the action is good. I hope it translates to the screen.
