Romance writer January Andrews is stuck in a rut and no longer believes in love. When she meets her old university nemesis and now neighbour Augustus Everett, an author of literary fiction, the two challenge each other: January will write the next Great American Novel and Augustus will pen a rom-com over the summer.
During this time January and Gus go on field trips and January starts to believe in love again. As it turns out, Gus has been in love with her all along, even when he critiqued her work harshly in university.
So glad to see a rom-com without smut! I’m not averse to all smut, I have written some myself but sometimes I prefer a book without it. This is by far the best romance novel I’ve read this year, and I’ve read far too many!
