Book 2 of the Inheritance Cycle.

This book picks up where Eragon left off, Eragon and his dragon Saphira have just saved the rebel state from destruction and travel on to Ellesmera, the land of the elves, where Eragon will be trained as a dragon rider. He’ll be taught swordsmanship and magic.

We also meet up with Eragon’s cousin Roran, who is simultaneously upset with Eragon for the loss of his father, and proud of him because he is a dragon rider!

We learn something about Eragon’s heritage in the final chapters of this book which blew me away.

I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed this, like the previous instalment of the series.
