Doctor Sleep by Stephen King

Doctor Sleep

This is the sequel to The Shining.

Dan Torrance, the kid from the Shining, is now middle-aged and settled in a New Hampshire town. He has a job at a nursing home, and his residual ‘shining’ power allows him to give final comfort the dying and he’s nicknamed Doctor Sleep. He meets 12 year old Abra Stone, and she has the most spectacular gift he’s ever seen. Dan has to save Abra from a tribe of murdering paranormals.

The book started really strong, and then I found a little dip, but I’m glad I soldiered through because it was a very enjoyable read. Was it as good as The Shining? Hmm. I preferred The Shining, but this was definitely a good sequel!
