When I saw the PopSugar prompt for an autobiography from a woman in Rock ‘n’ Roll, I was stumped. Who could I choose? When a 99p deal came through on Debbie Harry’s memoir Face It, I knew that this had to be it.
I had a love/hate relationship with Blondie’s music – as a blonde growing up in the 70s and 80s, my nickname was Blondie even though I didn’t start out liking the music. Over the 90s I grew to enjoy punk music (especially Billy Idol) and I learned to love some of Blondie’s songs.
While reading Face It, I kept going to iTunes to listen to a song here and there and I ended up downloading an entire album.
Thanks Debbie Harry for rediscovering your music 30 years after I initially started appreciating it.
