Humaira (Hani) Khan is very popular in school but when she comes out as bi-sexual her Irish friends react strangely. They say she cannot be bi because up until now, she has only dated boys. So Hani tells them she’s dating Ishita (Ishu) Dey. Ishu wants to become head girl and agrees to fake date Hani to get votes for this.
This is a cute enemies to lovers plot that gives an insight into another culture. Though Hani and Ishu start out fake dating, they learn that they have more in common than their sexuality and the colour of their skin.
