Twenty years ago, Marigold (Mari) Castle disappeared in the Thai jungle. Her boyfriend Luke Speed has always maintained there was another man in the jungle who was responsible for Mari’s disappearance. The press have hounded Luke to the point where he took refuge in drugs and then disappeared.
Documentary filmmaker Cassidy (Cass) Chambers gets a message from Luke Speed, telling her that he’s ready to tell his side of the story. When she meets with him, she’s immediately attracted to him. While they make the documentary the two grow closer, and then they go to Thailand with a small film crew for Luke’s side of the events of twenty years ago. Due to circumstances, Cass and Luke find themselves alone in the jungle – is Cass alone with a killer?
Dang, I loved this book! The suspense was killing me towards the end of the book! And the ending definitely threw me for a loop! Looking forward to reading more by Emily Freud!
I contemplated changing this over to another challenge that has a prompt for set in a jungle, but decided on another book for that.
