Lies We Sing to the Sea by Sarah Underwood

Every spring; Ithaca’s condemns twelve maidens to the noose, the price Poseidon demands for the crime of hanging and casting Queen Penelope’s twelve maids into the sea centuries ago. This time, it’s Leto’s turn, but it is not what she expected. She wakes up on an island and meets a girl called Melantho, who has green eyes and who can command the sea. Melantho says that one death can save the lives of thousands, and that live is that of the Prince of Ithaca…

This was a good read, I enjoyed the story very much, one minor point though, I didn’t see quite as much mythology as I would have liked.
