Podcaster Alix Summers meets Josie Fair when she’s out for her 45th birthday with her family at her local pub. Josie greets her with the words: “Hi, I’m your birthday twin!” Not only are the two women the exact same age, they were born in the same hospital. A few days later, the two women bump into each other outside Alix’ children’s school.
Josie manoeuvres things so that Alix starts interviewing her for a new podcast. We learn that the two women are very different. Josie got married and had children when she was very young with a man almost thirty years her senior. Alix didn’t meet her husband until she was in her thirties, and she still has young children.,
As the title of the book gives away, none of what Josie told Alix was true – or should be taken with a grain of salt to say the least. Josie tries to convince Alix that she is the victim in the marriage, but is she really?
I really don’t like Josie, she’s manipulative and infiltrates Alix’ life, she tries to ruin her marriage and you get the feeling she wants to be like Alix…
