Poison Orchids by Sarah A Denzil & Anni Taylor

Poison Orchids

Gemma and Hayley are backpacking in Australia. Hayley is from the Uk and Gemma is from Sydney; they met by chance in Sydney where they both worked at the same bar. When one of them was almost sexually assaulted by the owner of the bar, the girls steal his money and take off. They end up at a remote mango farm, they’re out of money and desperate for work.

The farm’s owner is Tate Llewellyn, a wealthy chemist, who has a love for cultivating rare orchids in his greenhouse. The girls spend a few weeks harvesting mangoes at the farm, and then they are found bruised and bloodied on a remote highway. They appear to be the victims of a killer who held them captive for weeks.

Senior Detective Bronwen McKay and psychologist Megan Arlotti are trying to piece together what happened to the girls and who is responsible…

I hadn’t heard of Sarah A Denzil and Anni Taylor before, but I’m definitely going to check out their other books. This is my favourite genre and this was an excellent thriller! When going through the audiobooks that were on sale in November I stumbled upon this book – my preferred genre and my favourite flowers – I just had to get it. I am so glad I did!
