The Oak Leaves
The Oak Leaves

Talie and Luke Ingram have one son, Ben, and are expecting their second child when they find out that Ben suffers from Fragile X Syndrome. Meanwhile, Talie finds her family’s bible with her family tree in it.

Irish Cosima Escott knows that the women in her family are cursed; they often bear feebleminded children. When an English gentleman appears and asks for her hand in marriage, she is reluctant but the man in question doesn’t take no for an answer. He takes her to England with him and lets her stay with a befriended family. Cosima ends up falling in love with the son of this family.

Talie discovers that her grandmother Cosima wrote a journal and discovers her family history.

This is a very obvious Christian book, lots of references to God and church and even though I’m not a Christian, I found this book very interesting. I learned about fragile X syndrome.
