Aurora Teagarden Mysteries book 7
Aurora is getting used to life after Martin died. Her former boyfriend Robin Crusoe comes back to Lawrenceton with the film crew that will be filming his novel. The actress who plays Aurora is his current girlfriend according to the tabloids. However, Robin swears that they broke up a while ago. The actress keeps trying to get to know Roe, to learn what her mannerisms are etc. To add insult to injury, her stepson Barrett is part of the cast as well, and he keeps insinuating that she married his father for his money (Roe did have her own money).
When Robin’s ex girlfriend is found dead in her trailer, Robin soon becomes a suspect. However, he has an ironclad alibi. Barrett spent the night with the starlet but is also eliminated from the suspect list. Together with Robin, Roe starts sleuthing which almost costs her her life.
I like Roe and Robin together – they’re a better fit than Roe and Martin. Charlaine Harris leaves a few red herrings dotted around in the plot, but it all comes back together beautifully, and she’s got rid of Barrett (by making him go back to Hollywood).
