Bright by Jessica Jung

Bright

This is the sequel to Shine.

Rachel Kim is a big star now, her band Girls Forever is the hottest K-pop bands and has been for years. Rachel’s younger sister is in her own K-pop band and they’re quite popular too. When in Singapore, Rachel meets Alex, a friend of her school friends and they really hit it off. There’s one problem, as a female K-pop star, Rachel isn’t supposed have a boyfriend.

Rachel has always been interested in fashion and decides she wants to launch her own fashion line. She designs handbags and they’re a big hit. But of course, the other girls in the band get jealous and make her life miserable.

I enjoyed Shine more than this one, but it was an okay read. I gave it 3.5 stars and rounded up to 4. I liked the dynamic of Rachel and Alex, the complaints about her band members were a bit over the top here and there. We already knew Mina was a b…h from the previous book…
