Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone

The protagonist of this novel is a writer called Ernest Cunningham, he tells the reader the story directly, breaking the 4th wall. Everyone in Ernie’s family has killed someone and he tells us the details in chapters specifically dedicated to that family member.

Ernie and his family get together in a snowed in resort, the people present are: Ernie’s mother Audrey and her husband Marcello, his aunt Katherine and her husband, his brother Michael and Ernie’s wife Erin who are now together, Michael’s ex-wife Lucy.

Right after they’ve arrived they’re told about a gruesome murder and the police seem to think it’s one of the family, because you can’t trust a Cunningham. Sofia, a friend of the family, is convinced it’s a serial killer called The Black Tongue, as she’s seen one of his victims before…

This book was so hyped up that I expected something incredible and unfortunately it just didn’t live up to the expectation for me…
