Damien Echols, one of the West Memphis 3, wrote this book about his life. His youth prior to his arrest, then his arrest and conviction, and then his life on death row. It’s hard to believe that the WM3 were convicted on so very little evidence and how they had to plead guilty (whilst still being able to maintain their innocence) so they could be released after almost twenty years.
This book was really interesting, the conditions of the prison Echols was in were atrocious. I think that even convicts deserve not to be swamped with crickets in summer, and rats in winter, and some cleanliness as well.
